Work, Study, Second Life, and First Life!

I've spent much of the last 48 hours studying. I've been so busy working for the last five months, this is the first time I have picked up my books, grabbed a pen and index cards, and done some good old fashioned studying and note taking. I'm still paying for my classes, but I've been actively avoiding them. We all do that. But why?

I've got to say, I have truly missed this. I've got to carve out time for both work and study, and not just now, but for a lifetime. Learning has always been one of my greatest passions--I mean hey, that's what life is. My value as a writer (and my asking price too!) will go down if I don't continually inject some knowledge into my brain... so I've got to keep working at it if I don't want to grow stale.

What else has been going on? I've been spending a lot of time in Second Life (if you're an SL user, search for AquaLacie Wyler and you'll find my alter ego who is quite similar in every way but appearance! LOL...), and I actually got a job as an Editor through that! It pays Lindens, not real cash--but it's worth my time for the experience alone. We're looking at creating a variety of publications in SL, but forefront in my mind are the poetry and LGBT themes. If you're a writer and you want to be involved in either of those projects or both, contact me in SL and show me what you've got. I'm eager to find passionate poets and talented writers from the LGBT community who can make our endeavor as amazing as it can possibly be...

Life is good right now. I've got the love of my life by my side, good work on my desk, decent money in my bank account, and I'm surrounded by people who I love and trust. That's more than I could have said two years ago. I am grateful... and 2007 is poised to get even better from here on out. :) Stay tuned... the website is launching in March, as promised!

Love,
Kelley
