Pretty Little Liars Theory - Harold/Scott + Sara + Brother?

Let me take a late-night incoherent stab at my first-ever Pretty Little Liars theory. This may seem a little off-topic for my blog, but then again, not really. And there is no doubt in my mind that combing through all the PLL theories on Tumblr has sharpened my writing skill for any possible mystery novels in the future. So very on-topic, indeed.

Here we go.

Harold Crane is Scott Montgomery, Byron’s mentally ill brother. He has either transitioned or is simply in disguise as Patty. Cece/Charlotte’s story may have been a lie, mirroring the true story of Scott but mixed up with elements of the Marion Cavanaugh story. Shower Harvey (sorry Dre, can’t help it, I hope she can appreciate that nickname because I personally get a kick out of it! Haha) is the real Bethany or more likely Bethany’s twin, and she (or they) are Scott’s kids and Aria’s cousin(s).

Sara’s male companion in those pics was clearly the witness at the police station, also disguised as a woman in the wig we saw last week. Likely her brother, another child of Scott's and cousin of Aria's. My theory is that when Ali drugged the girls “that night,” one or all of the PLLs caused Bethany’s death. Or at least Scott and Sara (and potential brother) think they did. Scott and Sara (and, again, this unnamed brother) are the villains but they think they’re righteous with their brand of vigilante justice, manipulating and scheming to try and get to the real truth of who killed Bethany, punishing the girls along the way.

This would explain why Aria seems (perhaps until now) to have been targeted less than the other girls. Either because she is their relative and they don’t want to believe she could be responsible, OR because she knows the truth and is working with them to try and get the facts from the inside. It’d be a story of anger, revenge, retribution. Unfortunately we’re left with a bunch of women with PTSD when all is said and done, but it would all wrap up nicely and make a whole lot of sense… I think… What do you think? 😉
