Love wins! I didn't think I'd feel this kind of acceptance and equality in my lifetime. When I was growing up, knowing that I was somewhere in that LGBT spectrum, I understood that at least some part of my life would have to be lived in the dark or I would lose the love of the people around me. That was just the way things were back then and I never imagined that there would even be a tiny glimmer of hope for things to change. Today, I look back and realize that at some very recent point in time, the tide did in fact turn. Our community was visible enough to make the the majority realize that same sex relationships are no different than opposite sex relationships. Love is love. I hope that this beautiful gesture of acceptance continues to wash forward into a wave of further equality in America, because we do still have such a long way to go to truly recognize that we are ALL equal, regardless of sex, gender, race, age, etc.! Realize that it's all connected, and that love is the answer to every bit of it. #equality #pride #lovewins A photo posted by Kelley Ann Hornyak (@poeticonic) on Jun 26, 2015 at 12:05pm PDT Leave a comment
